The Fixed Income Client Portfolio Management (FI CPM) team is part of the Investments department at Robeco. The team's main responsibility is to grow Robeco's fixed income business. They do this by presenting Robeco's fixed income strategies to clients and providing content for sales and marketing teams. The FI CPM team is involved in every stage of the commercial process for both wholesale and institutional clients globally. The team has seven Client Portfolio Managers based in Rotterdam, London, and Singapore, and two Investment Specialists and a Business Manager based in Rotterdam.

Position

As a Client Portfolio Manager Fixed Income, your responsibility is grow Robeco’s fixed income business by providing detailed insights into Robeco’s fixed income investment strategies, with a focus on credits, in the sales and retention process. Together with Sales, you are responsible for presentations to existing and potential clients or distribution partners, including investment consultants. This includes online and face to face meetings with professional investors as well as presentations ranging from small to large audiences. Educating and informing the sales force on relevant developments within fixed income markets, with a focus on credits, is also your responsibility.

In addition, you will provide relevant written product- and market commentaries on the capabilities you cover, with a focus on credits. You will also enhance materials for commercial use where possible. Moreover, you will handle incoming questions and requests on the capabilities you cover, including reviewing RFPs.

You will use your outstanding specialist knowledge to convince clients to choose Robeco’s fixed income solutions. Sustainability is embedded in our investment DNA, and you will be in the unique position to deliver our combined fixed income and sustainable IP to our clients. Your focus area will be the strategies managed by Robeco’s Credit team, such as Global Credits, SDG Credit Income, and other sustainable strategies. Close cooperation with the Portfolio Management team and other Client Portfolio Managers is essential. We are currently looking for a Client Portfolio Manager that will be stationed in Rotterdam. International travel is an important part of this position.

Position & Requirements

University degree, preferably in an economic discipline.
A minimum of eight years of relevant working experience in the financial service industry.
Experience in and a solid knowledge of fundamental fixed income investing is required. Ideally, you have held positions such as a strategist, fund selector, or (client) portfolio manager/analyst in a commercial asset management company or pension fund.
A proven commercial drive, deep investment expertise, and the ability to present specialist knowledge convincingly, establishing oneself as an authority in the area of expertise.
Proficiency in structuring, prioritizing, and thriving under pressure.
Comfort in handling challenging situations.
Affinity with sustainability is essential.
Excellent command of English is a prerequisite, and a good command of a second language such as French, German, or Spanish is a plus.
CFA or equivalent accreditation is preferred.
Preferably, you have worked as a strategist, fund selector, or (client) portfolio manager/analyst (or a similar role) in a commercial asset management company or pension fund.
Robust understanding of the fixed income asset class.
Entrepreneurial drive to build a business, coupled with the ability to be a cooperative team player.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Aptitude for public speaking in both formal and informal settings, in front of a variety of types and sizes of audiences.

CPM Responsibilities

Serve as the subject matter expert on Robeco’s fixed income solutions, with a focus on credits, both internally and externally.
Develop a robust partnership with portfolio management teams to act as a credible and highly effective Portfolio Manager substitute. Serve as the product expert for other CPMs, distribution teams, and marketing.
Represent Robeco’s fixed income products and solutions, emphasizing credits, in external forums such as client meetings, industry conferences, and gatherings with other global market participants. Provide feedback on client requests and research paper topics.
Create marketing and educational materials, including servicing presentations, monthly commentaries, quarterly investor reports, white papers, and other materials for publication.
Interact with investors and their advisors, including investment consultants, to identify and assess investment needs. Recommend suitable investment strategies and solutions.
Identify the demand for new products and actively participate in their development, positioning, and support.
Collaborate with client-facing Robeco professionals to effectively service and grow our fixed income business globally.
