At a glance
Within second line Credit Risk the Requirements Settings Team RST) is responsible for setting bank wide Credit Risk requirements in order to achieve regulatory compliance across the Credit Risk Life Cycle. We achieve this goal by delivering documents and guidance on (complex) Credit Risk related topics and by acting as a consulted stakeholder on projects withing ABN AMRO that have an impact on Credit Risk.
Your job
We are looking for Risk managers who are allrounder. Regulatory knowledge is the core of our business but we just as much require writing-, project management,- and stakeholder management skill. The perfect candidate takes his regulatory knowledge to our client unit stakeholders to explain what is required of them. He or she is able to independently manage a project of 3 to 5 people that analyze complex regulatory subjects in order to create a comprehensive requirements document.
Not one day is the same as the team is involved with the remediation of ECB obligations, calculation standards and data requirements for the RWA calculation, COREP exposure classes, rating assignment, connected clients, group support, credit risk reporting, etc. Flexibility is a required skill. The activities of the team relies on strong knowledge of the CRD/ CRR/ CoRep/ FinRep as well as a thorough understanding of how the banking business works in order to translate all these regulation into usable documents for the 1st line.
Working environment
The Requirement Settings Team is one of the four teams in the Oversight and Strategy department of Credit Risk. In our role we work closely with our colleagues within Credit Risk but also with Modelling teams, IT teams, implementation grids or regulatory experts of the Policy department and Basel Centre as well as with the 1st line. In your role you will have to be able to communicate with a broad range of stakeholders.
The RST is growing and the current team consists out of 12 ambitious people from all around the world. Our main language is English. Both in word as in writing. Within the team and the Credit Risk department, there is a lot of room for personal growth and development. Different views are valued and respected and it is encouraged to provide a new perspective. The atmosphere is open and informal and we are willing to help each other.
Your profile
We are looking for a colleague with substantial experience in Credit Risk with a thorough understanding of the banking business. Regulatory knowledge comes with practical experience in writing (policy) documents and preferably also project management experience. You feel comfortable with diving into new subjects and making them your own. You want to play a leading role in the department and act as a coach for more junior team members.
You are a great fit if you get excited about these complex subjects and challenging environment and feel that you can contribute to the mission of Credit Risk throughout ABN and can relate to the following:
- You a fast thinker that can work on detailed questions as well as overarching challenges
- You have 10+ years working experience in a relevant position
- You are able to explain regulations in an understandable way
- You have in-depth knowledge of credit risk related regulations
- You have excellent communications skills, especially in writing
- You look forward to leading complex stakeholder management discussions
- You want to lead small projects in order to deliver our requirement documents on complex subject

- The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
